Rinchen Dorji
Rinchen Dorji is the second eldest son of Ap Dorji Penjor and Aum Gyem Lhamo. He was born on 10th of August 1990 in Bumthang. He completed his education from Wangdicholing Lower Secondary School, Jakar High Secondary School and Sonam Kuenphen High Secondary School. Rinchen’s life has given him a twist which he never expected, a blessing in fact.
After graduating high school, in 2010 he was doing a job in Chamkhar when his father and mother proposed him to serve Truelku Rinpoche as Tsham Yog for three months during his retreat. (Tsham Yog is a person who assists those in retreats by offering them his or her service by undertaking basic chores such as cooking so that the person in retreat can solely dedicate his time to Dharma practice and meditation). This lucky concurrence with Truelku and his decision to serve him was a true blessing which brought him to the door of Buddha’s teaching.

Even after the retreat, Rinchen continued his humble stay and helped with the construction of Jangchub Gawai Tshel. He is now a resident in the monastery and proudly takes the responsibility to monitor and administers well fare of the monks.
